Not About Winning

Here is a post by an inspirational lady I met by the name of Joann Lowe:

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”

Proverbs 23: 7

King James Version

I just read a true story about a young man who was never able to make a basket when their team played.  One day during a game, all of the players on both teams kept giving him the basketball so that he would have a chance to make a basket.  The scorekeepers and everyone in the audience was cheering him on.  He finally made a basket and everyone rejoiced with him.  His team lost but I know that Jesus watched with tears of joy and happiness in His heart to see the love that was given to this dear young man.

O’ dear friends, it’s not about winning in this life or how much money we can make.  It’s not even about being recognized for our accomplishments; it is all about loving Jesus and others.  Even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written if everything that Jesus has done was recorded.  What is recorded is how much He Loves us and how precious we are to Him.  The love that we show to others is what Jesus is recording and what touches His heart.

I have received countless phone calls, emails and regular mail from people who have asked me to publish the writings that Jesus inspires me to write.  I receive emails almost every month from pastors and missionaries on the mission field who ask me to mail my book to them.  I have had to tell all of them that these writings will never be sold as they are a free gift from the heart of Jesus.  If God moves and I come into a lot of money, then I will have the writings printed and bound into a book and give the books away.

It is not important to me that people know that I wrote these writings; what is important to me is that they know how much Jesus Loves them and how much I love Jesus.  Without Jesus, life doesn’t make any sense and is meaningless.  We can have all the money, possessions and fame in the world but if we don’t have Jesus in our hearts and if we aren’t telling others how great Jesus is, then all of that is in vain and stinks in the nostrils of Jesus.  The only thing that touches Jesus is the condition of our hearts.  This is what life is all about; the condition of our hearts before a Holy God.  What does God see when He looks in your heart?  Does He see love for others or does He see selfishness and greed?

Desire!!

As I press forward in this life and as I move closer to God I notice a change in my desires.  Things that I would not normally yearn for or even think of are becoming normal topics of prayer and conversation.  I remember my pastor telling me that “a good prayer is one that is lined up with God’s will not my own”, and as I track my prayer life over the past year I noticed how drastically it has changed.  I am ever so thankful and more concerned about others and not so much myself.  I don’t come to God asking but thanking Him and happy to just be able to spend time with Him.  Yes there are many things I would like to see happen in my life and many are of vanity, but they no longer have a hold on my heart.  I am also thankful for my church and the growth we are experiencing there.  Being head of the media department is really challenging me and not just with the technical part but also with the people part. Being able to relate with my peers and opening up my life to others, not to mention getting those around me to open up themselves as well.  I feel God doing great things in my life and in my church and I just pray for His continual guidance.

Life’s Greatest Pursuit

My Pastor has been preaching on a series which asks, “What is Life’s Greatest Pursuit?” It amazes me when I sit back and think about what exactly it is that I am trying to attain in this life. You spend so much time going to school and educating yourself, or going to work to make money and pay your bills and somewhere along the way you have to ask yourself, “What am I pursuing?” Life should be about spreading the message of Jesus Christ and bringing people into His kingdom. It should be about showing love to your neighbor and living a Godly lifestyle. Life should be about spending time with God and developing a meaningful relationship with Him. But, is that what we are all truly and earnestly doing on a day to day basis? I look at Paul and the rest of the disciples and saw how they impacted the cities that they traveled too. They shook things up. The people were never the same after meeting them, or talking to them. Do we have that same impact when people come in contact with us? Are we too busy trying to to blend in with this world and the concerns that come along with it? These are questions that I have been asking myself recently. What am I truly pursuing? My Greatest pursuit is to be Christ-like. To follow in His ways and to multiply the gifts that he has blessed me with. I make an effort to learn from all my mistakes and not to make them again. In my pursuit I know that God will bless me, but that is not my concern. All I want is to feel the joy that comes with pursuing God.

Power of Praise Christian Center

I am proud to present the first client of My Church Central, “Power Of Praise Christian Center.” Their website was completed several weeks back and is now in the updating stages. The site is equipped with an events calendar, prayer request form that forwards all prayer to the church leaders, a wysiwyg text editor, an online donations module, photo gallery and an online sermon podcast module. The church is located in Tucker Georgia and is filled with strong God-Fearing congregates. If you are in the area and looking for a church home try giving them a visit. All information can be found on their website.

Your Church

In my quest to provide a great service to churches I find that there is not just a responsibilty in creating great interactive websites, but also educating the body of Christ in this new technology that can draw individuals to the word of God. What I find is that your website is an extension of your church. You want it to be inviting and interactive, almost sociable so that visitors will want to see your church in person. I am working tirelessly trying to find and put together the best applications that will do just that. In putting together and developing these websites I will be educating the churches on how to properly utilize and maximize their websites. I feel this to be the beginning of a great new journey that will bring a lot of insight.
